This is a nice sized cuckoo clock, with a nice, high gloss finish. I like the light sensor that turns off the cuckoo during the nite time hours. On the hour, before the bird comes out his door, there is a chirping sound. It does have an echo, not bothersome to me, just a bit unusual and is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. The pendulum on my clock is quite and does not make any noise. Not sure why several others are having a problem, maybe the pendulum is rubbing against the magnet that makes it go back and forth. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. -- Quirky But Nice

When I received this staff my wife opened it and after a while she loudly screamed ... "It is a Chinese made!!". Well, she has a bad impression about anything made in China!; however, not on this clock, because it's a well Chinese hand carved. The body is made of a solid carved wood, and the machine is well done. The clock is accurate and the little cuckoo bird coming out of his little net to cuckoo at every hour during the day and night. Not that only, he cuckoos to alert what time it is, so if you are nearly about to sleep, just count the time with him.

In General the cuckoo clock is a nice staff to put in the living room, and the little cuckoo bird is amazing but watch out if you have a cat!! -- A great Chinese made

I purchased this item and I love every minute of it (no pun intended). It bring a great rustic ambiance to my home, and my guests love it. It is definitely a great conversation piece. I have had this clock for a while.

It is a beautiful clock.

The one problem I have is the "double Cuckoo". By this I mean at 1:00 there are 2 cuckoos, 2:00 there are 4, etc. The extra cuckoos are actually echos in the woods, or cuckoos from "other" cuckoos. The cuckoo sequence is:
Real Cuckoo (birds mouth open)
Echo(birds mouth closed)
Real Cuckoo (birds mouth open)
Echo(birds mouth closed)

If this extra cuckoo could be turned off, I would give this clock a 5.

This clock has a light sensor, so when it is dark, the clock is silent. -- I Like This Clock
