We purchased this clock for our 2 year old grandson. The hands were very fragile and did not hold up to his little stubby fingers trying to move them to make the "cuckoo" talk. We liked that it played different melodies and it was an attractive clock. It did not last more than a week because of the hands, maybe you could make it again with sturdier hands. We have an original "cuckoo" clock purchased on a trip to Germany, it has very sturdy hands and our grandson and ourselves turn it for him all the time and we have never had a problem, so we were disappointed. -- Nice Clock

I bought this clock as a gift. It takes 4 AA batteries. It has a wood front, plastic housing with plastic "weights". I think there is a volume control. The bird doesn't pop out, but it's head moves back & forth. Very cute.

The gift recipient was very happy with it and it didn't break the bank for me. All in all, a good cuckoo clock for the price. -- Cute Clock for the Price
