Hand made of linden wood from Germany's Black Forest, this traditional cuckoo clock has all the old-fashioned works you remember from childhood. The heirloom-quality clock has a hand-carved case with leaves, a bird that cuckoos to herald the hours, and metal pine cone weights. The cuckoo can be silenced at night by latching his door shut. The 30-hour, all-brass mechanical movement is wound once per day by raising the two pine cone weights. The One-Day Musical Cuckoo needs to be wound once a day, by pulling the chains in order to run for approximately thirty hours. The clock plays music after the cuckoo call on the hour and some models also play music after the half hour call. Musical cuckoos come with two tunes, unless indicated otherwise. This charming and inexpensive cuckoo clock has a nice "two-tone" finish with the engraved portions highlighted with a lighter finish. The leaves and bird are hand carved from solid Linden wood. When the clock strikes the hour or half-hour, the door opens, a cuckoo appears and calls along with the clock's gong strike.
